Rewind 02:52
Don’t be shy of being tough A step at a time is more than enough Hmm-hmm You got nothing to lose so give it a try You fight real hard to cut through the rough Hmm-hmm And if you’re standing in the rain Nothing is the same But don’t you give up Rewind and start over again Oh oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Rewind, rewind Oh oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Rewind, rewind Don’t be shy of being stuck Cause we got days we’re just out of luck Hmm-hmm Don’t shy away from courage, hail new beginnings That it is just how it should be Hmm-hmm And if you’re standing in the rain Nothing is the same But don’t you give up Rewind and start over again Oh oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Rewind, rewind Oh oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Oh, oh, start over again Rewind, rewind...

Pennies from heaven fall on my head Trickling down but I grab a second too late It’s run away again You’re making plans with time on your hands But why do we always just think about the time in advance It’s run away again And oh, it’s caught me again I feel a little older, I feel a little older And time, do you need a friend Could you stop for a moment, stop for a moment And oh, it’s come back again Time to stop waiting, before life is fading But time, could just pretend To just stop for a moment, stop for a moment Slow it down, have a little faith in now Pennies from heaven, stuck in my shoe Feels like a pebble I want to get out of my truth It’s run away again No matter what comes, you’ll hear me speak I’ll be here singing, that’s a small promise I keep It's run away again And oh, it’s caught me again I feel a little older, I feel a little older And time, do you need a friend Could you stop for a moment, stop for a moment And oh, it’s come back again Time to stop waiting, before life is fading And time, could just pretend To just stop for a moment, stop for a moment Slow it down, stand your ground Slow it down, stand your ground It’s caught me again I feel a little older, I feel a little older And time, do you need a friend Could you stop for a moment, stop for a moment And oh, it’s come back again Time to stop waiting, before life is fading And time, could just pretend, To just stop for a moment, stop for a moment Slow it down, have a little faith in now Come back around when it’s there The time has come

Patio Blues 03:19
When the sun sets across the plain I look for love lost in vain The sand rusts in my hair But I’ve got this blues stuck in my head Then you walk through my door Can I know you some more Now I’m sitting here, and you’re sitting there And we’re singing, dancing to a patio blues The sun is hot but were in the shade of the morning Coffee on a patio blues I’m sitting here, and you’re sitting there And we’re singing, dancing to a patio blues The sun is hot but were in the shade of the morning It’s coffee on a patio blues Go slow in the summer haze Reflections fade and take me away There’s no rush is a point of view When we’re lost in love in a blues for two You walk through my door Can I know you some more Now I’m sitting here, and you’re sitting there And we’re singing, dancing to a patio blues The sun is hot but were in the shade of the morning Coffee on a patio blues I’m sitting here, and you’re sitting there And we’re singing, dancing to a patio blues The sun is hot but were in the shade of the morning It’s coffee on a patio blues...

There’s a man, he's stuck outside my door I can feel his shadow seeping through the cracks But god he looks like swallowed by the earth and the sea What have I just come around to meet Pieces of the ocean, some strange mystery Pieces of the ocean, caught up in the sea I open up and he sits down by the fireplace There’s a quivering fear I can read between his eyes An explorer with the powers of a human submarine Diving in a world which you can’t breathe Pieces of the ocean, some strange mystery Pieces of the ocean, caught up in the sea He had a moment of defeat A feeling of a powerless deceit Laying bear his raw mistakes Mending up a solitary fate A ray of light shines through a wave Praying for the day to go Asking the waves to stay Living the way to find Pieces of the ocean, some strange mystery Pieces of the ocean, caught up in the sea Pieces of the ocean, some strange mystery Pieces of the ocean, caught up in the sea

In My Head 03:58
There’s a fire raging, these charcoaled walls Are in my head now, in my head now But when the sun is shining, it fills me up In my head now, in my head now A canvas for a masterpiece The birthplace of trickery But I don’t understand which way to go You’re in my head, in my head You’re kicking up a blood rush You’re in my head, in my head But I can’t get enough Some days my mind gets tangled, can you relate In your head now, in your head now But once the fog has dried up, you’ll find your way In your head now, in your head now A canvas for a masterpiece The birthplace of trickery But I don’t understand which way to go You’re in my head, in my head You’re kicking up a blood rush You’re in my head, in my head And I can’t get enough You’re in my head, in my head You’re kicking up a blood rush You’re in my head, in my head And I can’t get enough You’re in my head, in my head again...

Rainbow 03:20
Walking down a rainbow This time I’ll find my gold It only shines when it’s raining A shimmer in the storm But as I slide down the seven colours The light sweeps me off my feet Am I falling for a mystic legend Or drowning in my own greed I’m walking down a rainbow Drawn across the sky But when the night falls It makes me feel high Ta da da, ta da da da Ta da da, ta da da da Walking down a rainbow Ta da da, ta da da da Ta da da, ta da da da Walking down a rainbow Walking round full circle The journey will never end One day I’ll be a rich man When all my thirsts have all been quenched But as I slide down the seven colours The light sweeps me off me feet Am I falling for a mystic legend Or drowning in my own greed I’m walking down a rainbow Drawn across the sky But when the night falls It makes me feel high Ta da da, ta da da da Ta da da, ta da da da Walking down a rainbow...

Dearly 03:48
I was waiting to find a friend Someone who don’t pretend To stay with me when it feels like the end I’m not asking for you to be Always here with me But it would be quite nice to have you near I love you dearly Can you just hold me I love you dearly Can you just hold me, hold me You and I can change the world Even if it’s just our own We don’t ever have to be alone I love you dearly Can you just hold me I love you dearly Can you just hold me, hold me...

How does it feel When you look at yourself in the mirror You know who you are But you want to be somebody different There’s something about me I’m willing to change A feeling that I can’t explain There’s something about me that’s never the same I let my heart run through my veins How does it feel When you pull yourself out from the cover There’s no turning back When your love is as strong as no other There’s something about me I’m willing to change A feeling that I can’t explain There’s something about me that’s never the same I let me heart run through my veins There’s something about me I’m willing to change A feeling that I can’t explain There’s something about me that’s never the same I let me heart run through my veins How does it feel, how does it feel How does it feel, how does it feel There’s something about me I’m willing to change A feeling that I can’t explain There’s something about me that’s never the same I let me heart run through my veins There’s something about me Running through my veins There’s something about me I'll never be the same How does it feel When you look at yourself in the mirror

Make It 04:25
Grooving down the alleyway Jazz cats look at the Milky Way I could get used to find a way I just need a place to stay Cruising down the alleyway Strangers look down the other way I just know what I've got to say I have found and gone my way I walk a straight line through the brick walls Hell I can make it, hell I can fake it I walk a straight line through the brick walls Hell I can make it, yeah Moving down the alleyway Wheels up and I lift away This is what I was meant to say I have found and gone my way I walk a straight line through the brick walls Hell I can make it, hell I can fake it I walk a straight line through the brick walls Hell I can make it, yeah Ta da da da da... Ta da da da da... I walk a straight line through the brick walls Hell I can make it, hell I can fake it I walk a straight line through the brick walls Hell I can make it, hell I can fake it...

Hey, little girl Your friends said you don't belong But you shut them down And blossomed into someone strong Hey, where did you go You found your place in this crazy world Hey, I want you to know Out there I'm never leaving you alone Hey, where did you go Hey, where did you go Hey, my girl It's no coincidence who you are You've come so far But your friends are still stuck at home Hey, where did you go You found your place in this crazy world Hey, I want you to know Out there I'm never leaving you alone Hey, where did you go Hey, where did you go...

about

In My Head is about the thoughts, fears and dreams we all have, and how they start in our heads. It can sometimes feel overwhelming but most often beautiful too. I hope these songs accompany you in those moments.

So many people made this record happen. Thank you to Nelson Canoa for your belief in my stories and bringing these songs to life. To the musicians that poured their souls into these recordings and, crucially, shaped their arrangements: Miguel, Pity, Guilha, Valter, Pedro, Carolina and Ricardo. To all my close friends (you know who you are!) and bandmates (we're in for a wild ride!), the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture and Kultur:LX team. To my siblings and parents for their support and Nicolle for your inspiration.

Finally, to all of you for listening to my first album, sharing a song with a friend, and coming to my shows. Thank you.

x Josh
